Bodoe/Glimt vs Olympiacos Prediction & Picks - Europa League
by Simon Day in Soccer Picks
Bodo/Glimt's reward for their stunning Europa League playoff victory over FC Twente is a last 16 clash with Greek giants Olympiakos. The big problem for the Norwegians is that, as their domestic season finished in November, they have played no competitive football at all since last month's two legged play off. In contrast, Olympiakos have had a packed domestic schedule and come in to this game in a rich vein of form. They are currently riding high at the top of the Greek Super League with a five point advantage over second place AEK Athens. They also finished in the top eight of the Europa League first phase, thus earning them an automatic spot in the last 16. However, Bodo/Glimt were only one point behind them in the standings, so will be approaching this game full of hope that they can pull off another big upset.Limited Offer. Currently at Fanatics

Bodoe/Glimt - Olympiacos: Form Analysis
Bodo/Glimt's last domestic game was back on the first of December, when they defeated Lillestrom 5-2 to secure their fourth Norwegian title in five seasons. Since then, their only competitive outings have been in the Europa League, where they picked up seven points from their final three league games to qualify for the play offs. After losing 2-1 at Twente in the first leg of that play off clash, they produced an extraordinary display to win the second leg 5-2 after extra time.
Olympiakos looking unstoppable
It has now been 26 games since Olympiakos last tasted defeat, and last season's Conference League champions are looking primed to make another run at European glory. That undefeated run includes four wins and three draws in the Europa League, as well as a streak of four victories from their last four domestic games.

Bodoe/Glimt & Olympiacos Squad Analysis
One key benefit of Bodo/Glimt's light fixture schedule is that have not picked up any fresh injuries since the play off victory over Twente. As such, manager Kjetil Knutsen will have a full strength squad to choose from for Thursday's game. That means play off heroes Sondre Fet and Brice Wembangomo will have to settle for places on the bench.
El Kaabi unlikely to feature
Ayoub El Kaabi is the top scorer in this season's Europa League with seven goals in eight games, but the Moroccan forward's muscle injury makes him a huge doubt for the trip to Norway. Aside from that, midfielder André Horta is the Greek side's other main concern. The Portuguese star's calf injury is likely to keep him on the sidelines for at least another week.

Our Bodoe/Glimt vs Olympiacos Prediction
It has been a fairytale run for Bodo/Glimt, but this looks like one step too far for the Norwegian champions. Olympiakos are one of the strongest teams left in the competition and their recent displays have been nothing short of sensational. The bookies have Bodo/Glimt as fairly strong favorites for the win, and they will certainly have a partisan home crowd (and some adverse wether conditions) on their side. However, man for man, they do not match up to the Greeks and we think the odds of 3.15 on an away win are too big to turn down. Our prediction for Bodo/Glimt vs Olympiakos is: Olympiakos to win.
