Shelton booked his fifth semifinal appearance on the ATP Tour this 2024 after outgunning No.1 seed Alexandre Rublev 7-5 6-7(3) 6-4. The American scored 53 winners, including 13 aces, and seized two important breakpoints: the first one gave him the first set, and the second breakpoint put him ahead, 5-4, in the third set. Fils, meanwhile, has remained scatheless after three rounds. The Frenchman downed No.3 seed Stefanos Tsitsipas of Greece 7-6(5) 6-3 behind a terrific performance that saw him winning 88 percent of his first serves and landing 10 aces. Fils is targeting to add a fourth trophy next to the three titles he won this year: Hamburg, Bordeaux, and Tokyo Open.
