With less than 48 hours to go before the first leg of their Gold Cup qualifier against Costa Rica, Belize have still not announced their full squad for the game. Several players have no-showed at training following arguments over pay, whilst leading clubs in the country are refusing to release their top players for the match. That has left coach Charles Slusher with a massive headache ahead of what already looked like an incredibly tough fixture for his side.
Costa Rica come into the game following an agonizing Nations League quarter final defeat against Panama. Miguel Herera's men topped Group A in the tournament, but failed to find their best form in the knockout round and were unable to overturn a 0-1 first leg deficit. That being said, they still come into this game as massive favorites, with bookies having them as short as 1.15 to win.
