Belinda Bencic of Switzerland will lock horns with Ashlyn Krueger of the United States in the 2025 Abu Dhabi Open championship match on Saturday. After an up-and-down 2024 campaign, Bencic may have recaptured her competitive form after topping No.1 seed Elena Rybakina 3-6 6-3 6-4 in the semifinal round. Bencic won 39 points off her first serves and broke Rybakina four times, including three in the deciding set. It marks Bencic’s first final appearance since losing to Alycia Parks 7-6(4) 3-6 6-0 in Angers, France last December. Krueger has also toppled several big names to reach the championship round. The American defeated McCartney Kessler 6-3 6-7(4) 6-3, Daria Kasatkina 1-6 7-5 6-4, Leylah Fernandez 7-5 4-6 6-2 and Linda Noskova 7-6(2) 6-4 to arrange a title match with Bencic.
