Detroit is coming off a dominant 6-0 win over the San Diego Padres on Wednesday. Reese Olson gave the Tigers 7 1/3 shutout innings, giving up just two hits and a walk while striking out seven. Gleyber Torres got the scoring started early with a home run in the first. Justyn-Henry Malloy added another homer in the fifth to make the score 2-0. Dillon Dingler closed out the scoring with a two-run shot in the eighth. Baltimore ended a three-game losing streak with a 2-1 win over the Nationals yesterday.
Brandon Young will get the start for the Orioles. It will be his second career start; he went four innings in his first start, giving up seven hits, three walks, and three earned runs while striking out three. Detroit will turn to Casey Mize. Mize is 3-1 in four starts with a 2.22 ERA. He went seven innings in his last start, giving up four hits and one earned run while striking out three.
