It's back down to Major League Soccer business for Austin FC and the Colorado Rapids, who'll lock meet at Q2 Stadium on Saturday evening. Both the hosts and the visitors go in search of improvement having both failed to win last weekend.
The new season began quite well for Austin FC, with Nico Estevez's men beating SKC on the opening weekend, keeping a clean sheet in the process. Unfortunately, the men in green and black couldn't use that victory as a spingboard for further success. Last weekend, they lost on the road in Portland, though their defeat was a narrow one, while there were positives to be taken from the performance. Back in front of their own fans, they'll fancy themselves to bounce back.
First time out, the Rapids tied 0-0 with St. Louis, delivering what was a reasonably tame performance, especially offensively, though they stepped on the gas to improve on that last time out, scoring three goals at home to FC Dallas. Sadly, their offensive improvement came at the cost of defensive weakness. They conceded three too. Chris Armas's men will now be looking to tighten up.
