Aston Villa have a mountain to climb in the second leg of their Champions League quarter final clash with PSG. Despite defending heroically for the majority of last week's first leg in Paris, Villa were undone by three moments of magic from PSG's star studded team and now have a two goal deficit to overcome at Villa Park on Tuesday night.
It was looking extremely bright for Villa, when Morgan Rodgers tapped in at the far post to give them the lead against the run of play after 35 minutes. However, Desire Doue curled in a magnificent equalizer just four minutes later and Georgian winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia gave PSG the lead when he turned the Villa defence instead out before firing home an unstoppable shot on 49 minutes. Villa looked to have escaped with just a one goal deficit, but Nuno Mendes fired home a last gasp third to swing the tie firmly in the Parisian's direction.

Aside from that first leg defeat, Villa have been in magnificent form in recent weeks. Saturday's routine 0-3 at Southampton was their fourth Premier League victory on the spin and they are now within touching distance of the top four. Last month's 0-3 win at Preston means they are also in the semi finals of the FA Cup, so if the next few weeks go their way it could end up being a truly remarkable season for Unai Emery's team.
PSG on the charge
PSG are also challenging on three fronts this season. They have sealed the Ligue One title with over a month of the campaign remaining, and will be overwhelming favorites to defeat Reims in the French Cup final at the end of May. Luis Enrique's teams have now won 17 of their last 18 games in all competitions and many experts now make them favorites to win their first ever Champions League title.

Villa's only injury absentee will be winger Leon Bailey. The Jamaican wideman missed Saturday's game at Southampton with an unspecified injury and Unai Emery does not expect him to be fit in time for Tuesday night.
