Both sides are gunning for a Champions League spot, with the Villains looking to join the league's elite 'top 6' status. Aston Villa will be keen to move on from their disappointing 2-0 defeat against Wolves in their last league assignment. They have since responded well in the FA Cup fourth round after edging out Tottenham 2-1. Before hosting the Blues, they play Ipswich and Liverpool at Villa Park and will be keen to maximize their home run. Chelsea, on the other hand, were dumped out of the FA Cup by Brighton. They have a repeat matchup against the Seagulls in the league before traveling to Aston Villa. With Man City, Newcastle, and Bournemouth all chasing the top 4 spots, only a win would suffice for Enzo Maresca and his men.
