The 7th ATP Next Gen Finals kick off this week in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This tournament, which brings together 8 of the world's up-and-coming tennis players under the age of 22, will see Frenchman Arthur Fils and Brazilian Joao Fonseca battle it out in the group stages. Arthur Fils, 20, is taking part in this tournament for the second year running, and last year he did rather well, not only finishing 1st in his group, but also as a finalist against the winner, Hamad Medjedovic. Having won 100% of his matches in the group stages last year, and being seeded number 1 in this year's tournament, he should have no trouble winning his first match against his Brazilian opponent.

For his part, 18-year-old Joao Fonseca hasn't played since November, when he lost in the semi-finals of the Lyon Challenger to Calvin Hemery, ranked 201st in the world, without winning a set. Finishing his 3rd professional season, the Brazilian doesn't have the same experience as his opponent of the day, who is already one of the top 20 players.
