On Friday, it's time for some quarter-finals action at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells. On the ATP side of things, there's a very interesting match between Arthur Fils and Daniil Medvedev, who is looking to reach the final of this event for the third time in three seasons. Can the Russian keep his dreams alive by getting a win here? 

Arthur Fils has improved over the last year or so, winning not one but two events in 2024, and now occupies a rather lofty 21st position in the ATP Rankings. After a couple of below par efforts in both Rotterdam and Dubai, Fils has shifted through the gears at this tournament, winning three matches, battling hard to overcome Marcos Giron last time out. Such a win should leave the youngster feeling confident ahead of this match, but even if he's feeling strong and has his game in good shape, making headway against one of the best in the business will be tricky. 

Clearly a top player, Daniil Medvedev has been in hot form of late, while we know that he loves this tournament, reaching the final in both 2023 and 2024. His recent straight-set wins against the likes of Bu and Paul suggest that he's got a great chance of making another final too.
