Winners in 4 of their last five games, the Arizona Diamondbacks will start a new series with the Miami Marlins at loanDepot Park on Tuesday.
The Diamondbacks grinded out a series win over the Milwaukee Brewers, beating them 5-2 in the series final for back-to-back victories. Arizona got a solid start from Zach Gallen and even more terrific pitching from their reserves. Gallen threw two earned runs in 6.0 innings, while the D-Backs’ bullpen, led by Aj Puk, shut down the Brewers in the last three innings.
The Marlins have won three of their last four coming into Tuesday’s series opener vs. the D-Backs. After losing Game 1 via a score of 4-7, Miami responded with a livelier offense as they turned in 18 runs between Game 2 and 3. The Marlins is averaging .253 with 64 runs this season, but their recent showing at the plate gives everybody a glimpse of their potential as a high-powered baseball club.
