Rublev, the No.4 seed of the tournament, is gunning for his third ATP title of the year and 17th overall. Yunchaokete, on the other hand, continued his impressive play following a semifinal stint at the Hangzhou Open. The Chinese downed recently crowned Chengdu Open champion Juncheng Shang 6-7(3) 6-2 6-4 before dominating Wimbledon semifinalist and Olympic men’s singles bronze medalist Lorenzo Musetti 6-2 6-4.
