Alexander Zverev of Germany kicks off his Indian Wells Open run against Tallon Griekspoor of the Netherlands on Friday. Zverev joins the fray in Indian Wells after subpar campaigns in South America and Acapulco. Seeded No.1 at the Rio and Argentina Open, the German could only go as far as the quarterfinals of these tournaments. He also got booted out early in the second round by American rising star Learner Tien, 6-3 6-4, at the 2025 Acapulco Open, which was ravaged by food poisoning incidents. Griekspoor is fresh off a semifinal appearance at the Dubai Tennis Championship. The Dutch knocked over a couple of big names in his run to the semifinal such as Ugo Humbert of France 4-6 6-3 6-2 in the second round and former world’s No.1 Daniil Medvedev 2-6 7-6(7) 7-5 in the quarterfinal. Griekspoor lost to eventual Dubai Tennis Champion Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-4 6-4 in the semis.

Our Alexander Zverev vs Tallon Griekspoor Prediction
Zverev is the consensus favorite but don’t sleep on Griekspoor in this match because he’s capable of pulling off some surprises. Again, Zverev has had an underwhelming buildup leading to the Indian Wells Open. He might be the top seed in this tourney but everybody sees him as a weak No.1 since Jannik Sinner, the world’s No.1, is serving a three-month suspension, not to mention that he will enter the fray still searching for his first ATP Tour title in 2025. Boasting a 75 percent win rate in first-round matches, Zverev remains a solid pick for an outright win but Griekspoor is poised to test his mettle on Friday. Our betting prediction for Alexander Zverev vs. Tallon Griekspoor: Tallon Griekspoor will cover +3.5 games.
