Pacheco Mendez was gifted with a walkover win by Casper Ruud of Norway, who begged off from the second-round match with the Mexican due to an upset stomach. This development sent Pacheco Mendez to his first quarterfinal appearance in an ATP Tour tournament. Mendez had defeated Aleksander Vukic of Australia 7-5 4-6 7-6(4), the biggest win in his career.
