This week, the PGA Tour train heads to one of the most prestigious golfing venues on the planet. That’s right, it’s off to California, where the AT&T Pro-Am will take place at the world famous Pebble Beach Golf Links. See below for our best bets and outright picks ahead of this tournament.

After last week’s action in San Diego, where the Farmers Insurance Open was held at Torrey Pines, the PGA Tour action remains in the state of California this week, but we’re moving further north to Carmel Bay, home to the picturesque Pebble Beach Golf Links.

This long-standing tournament deviates slightly from the typical tour event format in that it’s played on two courses, one of which is the Pebble Beach Golf Links and the other is Spyglass Hill Golf Course.

A Look at the Course

Players will play 18 holes on each of the two courses over the first two days, before those who make the cut will battle it out at Pebble Beach on Saturday and Sunday.

Situated atop the iconic Carmel Bay cliffs, Pebble Beach offers both players and those lucky enough to be attendance in other capacities some of the most breathtaking views in the whole of US, while it also provides a true links test, meaning that those teeing it up this week will have to avoid being put off by the stunning views.

While Pebble Beach is an out-and-out coastal course, Spyglass Hill incorporates both links and parkland golf, making for a rather unique challenge.

Due to both courses being tough, this event isn’t quite as high-scoring as many other PGA Tour events, with none of the last nine winners finishing the tournament with a four-round score better than -19.

In other words, those who can hold their nerve and deal with the tough links conditions, yet still score thanks to high performance in terms of strokes gained: tee-to-green will thrive.

And now for the good stuff. It’s time to get stuck into a few viable betting opportunities ahead of this fantastic event. If you’re searching for sports betting picks in general, then don’t forget to check out our primary picks page.

Justin Thomas to win: +1400 with DraftKings

justin thomas

Having ended 2024 with an admirable third-place finish at the Hero World Challenge the Bahamas, Justin Thomas, who is now ranked 14th in the world, has made a pleasing return to action in 2025, finishing in a respectable 26th at the Sentry in early January, before improving to finishing second at The American Express two weeks later.

Following that second last time out, Thomas has recent form figures of 2-26-3-2-14, so I think it’s fair to say that the former world number one has had his game in good shape for a while.

What’s more, we saw JT take to this event last season, finishing sixth when playing in it for just the second time in his career. With that rather solid effort under his belt, I really wouldn’t be surprised to see the two-time major winner enjoy himself at Pebble Beach this week.

As mentioned above, stroke gained:tee-to-green is going to be key this week, so it bodes rather well that Thomas ranked as the best player in the field for this metric at this event last season. With +1400 on offer, he’s hard to ignore.

Keegan Bradley to win/top 10 finish: +4500 & +350 with DraftKings

keegan bradley

Those who read my last golf piece for SportyTrader will know that I was very much in Keegan Bradley’s corner ahead of the Sony Open. The one-time major winner couldn’t get it done on that occasion, though he certainly played well, finishing T6.

Up to number 11 in the world rankings, Bradley has been playing well for some time now, shaping on multiple occasions as if his eighth PGA Tour success isn’t far away.

The winner of the BMW Championship back in August 2024, the 38-year-old has finished no worse than T21 in any of his last six events, posting three top-10’s during that time.

In addition to some rather encouraging recent efforts, Bradley played well at this tournament last season, finishing T11.

He also ranks as the fourth best player in the field in terms of strokes gained: tee-to-green in the last eight weeks, as well as sixth in terms of strokes gained: total. Such stats make odds of +4500 (winner) and +350 (top 10) look too generous as far as I’m concerned.

Eric Cole top 10 finish/top 20 finish: +650 & +260 with DraftKings

eric cole

Another player I’m interested in ahead of this week’s action in Carmen Bay is Eric Cole, who in recent times has performed better than his current odds suggest that he will this week.

The world number 54, who happens to be a California native, has shown glimpses of top-tier play in recent weeks, finishing T6 at the Shriners back in October 2024, before finishing T15 at the RSM Classic, as well as fifth at the Sony Open just three weeks ago.

In each of the last two seasons, Eric Cole has shown that he’s a player capable of getting down to business in pleasing fashion at Pebble Beach, finishing T15 at this event in 2023, before finishing T14 in 2024.

Of those to have played the tournament at least twice before, Cole ranks fourth for strokes gained: approach, seventh for strokes gained: tee-to-green and sixth for strokes gained: ball striking.

Will Eric Cole win this tournament at mammoth odds? Almost certainly not, but does he have the game to finish relatively high on the leaderboard? Absolutely. In fact, I’d argue that there’s enough evidence to support the notion that the man from Palm Springs has a better chance of thriving than the early market suggests.
