Things to Consider Before Betting On the Gold Cup

2025 Gold Cup Draw: Things to know

History matters in tournaments like this, and Mexico — the reigning champ — is shaping up as the team to beat. El Tri has won the title 12 times, more than any other nation, but they haven’t gone back-to-back since 2009 and 2011. That being said, historically speaking the US and Mexico have taken turns winning the competition and since Mexico won the previous edition, it's the USMNT's turn to shine.

On paper, the United States and Canada, are both stacked with attacking talent. Still, bettors should note: while these teams have firepower on paper, their recent matches have leaned more toward low-scoring affairs.

Also worth watching: two debutants are making noise this year. Saudi Arabia, navigating an up-and-down journey through Asia, and the Dominican Republic, who qualified for the Gold Cup for the first time in their history.
