The best volleyball clubs from across the globe have now arrived in Uberlandia, Brazil, for the 19th edition of the Men's Club World Championship, and below you will find all the key information you need to know about this year’s tournament.

Participating Teams and Qualification

For the 2024 FIVB Volleyball Men's Club World Championship, qualification for the tournament was allocated as: two teams per continent from Europe, Asia and South America, as well as one spot for Africa and a club from the host nation. 

Here are the teams that are participating in this year’s Men's Club World Championship: 

  • Praia Clube - Qualified as hosts
  • Sada Cruzeiro Volei (CSV) - South American Champions 2024
  • Ciudad Voley (CSV) - South American Runners-up 2024
  • Itas Trentino (CEV) - European Champions 2024 
  • Cucine Lube Civitanova (CEV) - Wild Card
  • Foolad Sirjan Iranian (AVC) - Asian Champions 2024
  • Shahdab Yazd (AVC) - Asian Runners-up 2024
  • Al Ahly SC (CAVB) - African Champions 2024

Notably, European runners-up Jastrzebski Wegiel turned down the invitation to participate in the World Championship due to cost and logistical concerns, and they were replaced in the competition by Cucine Lube Civitanova.

Tournament Pools and Schedule 

Shahdab Yazd

In the Preliminary Phase of the competition, the eight participating clubs will be divided into two Pools comprising four teams. Each club will play every other team in the Pool once and the top two teams from each group will move on to the semi-final round. 

The Pools have been allocated as follows: 

Pool A: 

  1. Al Ahly SC
  2. Cucine Lube Civitanova
  3. Praia Clube
  4. Foolad Sirjan Iranian

Pool B: 

  1. Ciudad Voley
  2. Sada Cruzeiro
  3. Shahdab Yazd
  4. Trentino Itas

At the end of the group stage, the Pool A winners will face the team that finishes second in Pool B in the first semi-final, and the runner-up in Pool A will face the Pool B winners in the second semi-final. Here is the match schedule:
