Saturday Showdown: Key Clashes On the Card
Saturday’s stacked Premier League fixture list kicks on in North London where Tottenham Hotspur will be playing host to Newcastle United. The Lilywhites ended 2024 very poorly, winless in their final three games, which sees them set off in the New Year in the bottom half of the table. The Magpies, on the other hand, are being led by an in-form Alexander Isak, who has scored eight goals in his last six games to help the team into the top five. Eddie Howe’s side are the marginal favourites in this contest while Isak is priced at a very attractive 1.80 to score anytime with Bet365.
Five matches are set to get underway at the 3 pm kickoff (BST), and arguably the pick of them is the London Derby between Crystal Palace and Chelsea at Selhurst Park. The Eagles ended their run of 13 consecutive league defeats against this opponent in the reverse fixture which ended 1-1 back in September. However, the Blues have still won 12 of their last 15 Premier League away games against Palace - the joint-highest away win rate any side has against another in the top flight (provided the teams have met 10+ times).
At the same time, a stuttering Manchester City will be hoping to build on their victory over Leicester City in their final match of 2024, when they welcome West Ham United to the Etihad Stadium. The Citizens are 14 points behind Liverpool in the league standings and have played a game more, meaning that they simply cannot afford any more dropped points if they are to have any chance of competing for the title this season. Pep Guardiola’s men have won all but one of their last 15 home league games against the Irons, including the last eight on the bounce since September 2015 and they are the clear favourites here, currently showing up at 1.35 to win the match.
Saturday’s final kickoff takes us to the South Coast where Brighton & Hove Albion will take on Arsenal at 5:30 pm (BST) in a tantalising top-half tussle. The Seagulls are winless in seven Premier League matches (W0 D5 L2) and last tasted victory in mid-November when they edged Bournemouth 2-1 on the road. The Gunners, meanwhile, dispatched Brentford on New Year’s Day, taking them to a three-match win streak and nine games unbeaten. Mikel Arteta’s side have not conceded in four consecutive Premier League home games and you can lock in odds of 2.10 for the hosts to maintain another clean sheet this weekend.

Bet on the Premier LeagueSuper Sunday Brings Us the Premier League’s Biggest Rivalry
Three matches are lined up on Sunday, but the undoubted attention-grabber is a fixture that many still consider the fiercest rivalry in the top flight - Liverpool vs. Manchester United. The Reds have been incredible this season and are on their way to levelling the scores in the all-time top-flight title standings, currently held by Man United (20 titles). The Red Devils have been in terrible shape recently, and after losing to Newcastle on Boxing Day, they are now on a four-match losing streak across all competitions and have won only one of their last six in the Premier League. Liverpool thumped United 3-0 in the reverse fixture, and in that match, Mohamed Salah took his individual record to 12 goals and six assists in just 14 league matches against the Red Devils. The Egyptian King has been on fire this season, scoring 12 goals in his last 10 league games, and bookies have allocated odds of 1.72 for the Golden Boot favourite to find the net yet again in this match.
Matchday 19 will draw to a close with an intriguing matchup between an improving Wolverhampton Wanderers and a surging Nottingham Forest at the Molineux Stadium. Wolves held Spurs to a 2-2 draw in their last match to end 2024 above the drop zone, but Forest have undoubtedly been the biggest surprise package over the first half of the season, as they prepare to kick off 2025 in third place in the Premier League and currently carrying the longest active win streak in the division of five in a row. The Tricky Trees are favoured in this one by the Best Online Betting Sites but are still a very tempting prospect at odds of 2.40.
