It's not been a great week so far for Liverpool. We can just about ignore the home draw with Plymouth as that was a reserve side but the loss at Southampton in the EFL Cup was more serious. Liverpool are five points behind leaders Chelsea and five ahead of sixth placed Manchester United. A loss here would severely damage their title hopes if Chelsea win at Leicester and mean a season more about staying in the top four. Away form in the Premier League has dipped a little bit in recent weeks with just two wins from their last five. Manchester United on the other hand are in the best form they've been in for years. The EFL Cup win over Hull City means they have won their last nine games in all competitons and haven't lost at home since the defeat by Manchester City in September.
