Premier League as exciting as ever
Matchday 14 of the English Premier League just finished last night. Here are the latest Premier League statistics:
- Home wins: 44%
- Draws: 26%
- Away wins: 29%
- Average goals: 2.96 goals per game
- +0.5 goals : 96%
- +1.5 goals : 83%
- +2.5 goals : 56%
- +3.5 goals : 34%
- +4.5 goals : 16%
- ‘Both teams to score : yes’ : 62%
- Average goals per home game : 1.61
- Average goals per away game : 1.35
- Average shots per game: 28.89
- Home team scores first : 49%
- Away team scores first : 46%
- Victory by a margin of 2 goals or more (handicap): 39.9% of duels
- Correct score 0-0: 4.3% of matches
- Most frequent score: 1-1 (15.7% of games)
- Quarter-hour with the most goals: 76‘-90’ (21%)
To prepare your future Premier League predictions, you'll notice that some of the figures stand out. There is a slight home advantage, and the overall goal average for the league is quite high! The overs are also very interesting, but it is above all the ‘Both teams score: yes’ bet that is valid in more than 6 out of 10 matches!
The average number of shots per match is also very high, and we remind you that bookmakers now offer this type of bet in France! In the English league, it could therefore be worth trying your luck before the end of the season. However, when it comes to who scores first (home or away), the Premier League teams seem to find it hard to decide between them.
We move on to handicap betting, which is valid in almost 4 out of 10 matches. This could be interesting for your bets, especially if you want to bet on a big game, which could have fairly low odds and not necessarily interesting to try in 1N2. Finally, there is a high proportion of exact 1-1 scores, while 0-0 scores seem to be to be avoided in the English league.
A difficult Spanish Liga for visitors
In the Spanish league, despite a few postponed matches, the teams have played 15 games overall. Here are the figures:
- Home wins: 47%
- Draws: 26%
- Away wins: 27%
- Average number of goals: 2.63 goals per game
- +0.5 goals: 93%
- +1.5 goals: 74%
- +2.5 goals: 50%
- +3.5 goals: 26%
- +4.5 goals: 13%
- ‘Both teams to score: yes’ : 55%
- Average goals per home game: 1.50
- Average goals per away game: 1.13
- Average shots per game: 25.48
- Home team scores first: 56%
- Away team scores first: 36%
- Victory by a margin of 2 goals or more (handicap): 31.5% of duels
- Correct score 0-0: 7.4% of matches
- Most frequent score: 1-1 (14.1% of games)
- Quarter-hour with the most goals: 76‘-90’ (21%)
This year, certain bets are to be favoured for your La Liga predictions. With almost half of their wins coming at home, the visitors are winning very little (27%). To confirm this figure, the average number of goals scored by away teams is low this season and has fallen slightly compared with last year's figures, as has the ‘away team opens the scoring’ bet, which is only valid in just over one in three matches this year, compared with 42% last year.
When it comes to betting on goals, the Spanish league is clearly not the one to favour. Already not very high last season, the average number of goals has fallen even further. And, paradoxically, the Over 0.5, 1.5 and 2.5 have increased very slightly, but the 3.5 and 4.5 have dropped significantly. We also noticed that the home team opened the scoring more often (6% more), confirming the difficulties of the away clubs.
Finally, we note that handicap wins, which were worth trying last year, are much less popular this time round. And for fans of exact scores and betting on draws, 0-0 and 1-1 seem to be the results to go for at the end of the 2024-2025 season!
A very competitive Serie A
After 14 matches in the Italian league (13 for 4 teams), which will take us to mid-season when the last matches will have been caught up, here are the statistics:
- Home wins: 41%
- Draws: 29%
- Away victories: 30%.
- Average goals: 2.70 goals per game
- +0.5 goals: 93%
- +1.5 goals : 75%
- +2.5 goals : 51%
- +3.5 goals : 28%
- +4.5 goals : 15%
- "Both teams score : yes" : 49%
- Average goals per home game: 1.42
- Average goals per away match: 1.28
- Average shots per match: 26.54
- Home team scores first: 46%
- Away team scores first: 46%
- Victory by 2 goals or more (handicap): 31.5% of duels
- Exact score 0-0: 7.2% of clashes
- Most frequent score: 1-1 (13% of games)
- Quarter-hour with most goals: 76'-90' (22%)
The Italian championship, although it has improved in recent years, is not the most exciting. This is still the case this year, despite a slight rise in the average number of goals scored. What stands out the most are the Over's, which have risen slightly but remain at a very low average compared to other leagues. If you're a fan of this type of betting, Serie A doesn't seem to be the league for you.
But what's most striking is the disparity in results. While the figures were already well balanced according to last year's stats in our Serie A prediction, this season's are even more so. With 41% home wins, 29% draws and 30% away successes, it's hard to give an advantage to Italy's 1N2.
This is also reflected in the team that scores first, since the percentage is the same for both home and away teams: 46! We see this balanced level in handicap betting too, which struggles to exceed a third of matches. We can also see that exact 0-0 and 1-1 scores account for over 20% of matches this season, a figure which is slightly down on last year but which could well continue in the second half of the season !
Bundesliga still number 1 in terms of goals
We finish on a high note with the German championship, which is now exactly halfway through the season. Here are the Bundesliga figures after 12 matchdays:
- Home wins: 44%
- Draws: 24%
- Away wins: 31%
- Average goals: 3.22 goals per game
- +0.5 goals: 91%
- +1.5 goals : 81%
- +2.5 goals : 62%
- +3.5 goals : 44%
- +4.5 goals : 23%
- “Both teams score : yes” : 56%
- Average goals per home game: 1.69
- Average goals per away match : 1.53
- Average shots per match: 28.67
- Home team scores first: 44%
- Away team scores first: 46%
- Victory by 2 goals or more (handicap): 45.4% of duels
- Exact score 0-0: 9.3% of clashes
- Most frequent score: 2-1 or 1-2 (12.1% of games)
- Quarter-hour with most goals: 76'-90' (19%)
When it comes to figures to help you prepare your Bundesliga predictions for the rest of the season, there are a few that stand out. First and foremost, the German league is the most prolific and attacking of the 5 major leagues! With an average of over 3.20 goals, Germany is spectacular.
And yet, even if the Bundesliga remains the favourite for Over bets and ‘both teams score’ bets, the figures are down on last season (‘both teams score’, Over 0.5, 1.5 in particular). On the other hand, the Over 3.5 and 4.5 are up slightly on last season.
Although home teams win more often than away teams, this is not necessarily reflected in the stat with the home team scoring first, which is lower than that of the away team. In fact, it's the only one of the 5 major leagues where this is the case! For the second half of the season, handicap bets will still be worth a try, as they come up in almost half the matches.

To conclude this article, we can see that certain leagues are to be preferred depending on the type of bets you wish to make for your football predictions. In terms of 1N2, Ligue 1 and Serie A are the leagues you should count on most when it comes to home wins. Serie A, on the other hand, has the most draws, while Bundesliga and Ligue 1 have the most away wins.
Unsurprisingly, the average number of goals scored is by far the highest in Bundesliga, while Ligue 1 has nothing to be ashamed of, equalling the Premier League! We're staying in France for the Over 0.5 and Over 1.5, the league that validates these two bets the most. On the other hand, you'll have to go to Germany for the Over 2.5, 3.5 and 4.5, with the German league far ahead of the others.
The Premier League dominates both the ‘Both teams score: yes’ (BTTS) bet and the number of shots per game.
Ligue 1 has made good progress in recent years and is one of the best attacking leagues in the world. The Bundesliga continues to lead the way in terms of average goals per game, both home and away. For the ‘Home team scores first’ bet, La Liga is in the lead, while for the same bet but with the away team opening the scoring, the lead is shared between the PL, the Bundesliga and Serie A.
For a handicap bet, Ligue 1 is apt to be your best ally this season, since it validates this bet in almost 50% of matches. As for the exact score, for a 0-0, paradoxically it's the Bundesliga that you'll have to turn to, while the Premier League takes the lead for 1-1. And we end with the most prolific quarter-hour. While it's always the 76‘-90’ that leads the way, it's in Serie A that it's the most validated, even if the figures are very close.
