The 2025 6 Nations Tournament kicks off today! For the return of the famous tournament, our rugby experts give you their favourites for the tournament's top scorer, as well as their opinion on who will be the competition's top try-scorer.

Louis Bielle-Biarrey (France) @3.00

The young winger of the French national team has exploded onto the international scene and is having an extraordinary season. It's not for nothing that this year he's the bookies' favourite for the tournament's top try-scorer.

Quick, with good vision of the game and an ability to read the space, Louis Bielle-Biarrey has the potential to hurt opposing defences. With the quality of Les Bleus' play, particularly under the guidance of Antoine Dupont, Bielle-Biarrey could well finish top of the scoring charts. He is in good form and has been included in the starting line-up for the opening match of the 2025 Six Nations Tournament against Wales.

Damian Penaud (France) @5.50

Damian Penaud - French XV
As efficient as ever, Damian Penaud remains a sure bet. Although he didn't have an excellent tournament last year (scoring just 1 try), the Bordeaux winger is scoring more than a try a game on average this season, and is not to be underestimated. He also finished top try scorer (5) at the 2023 tournament.

If Les Bleus are in form, Penaud will have just as much chance as his young team-mate of finishing top scorer. However, Penaud will not be able to play in the first duel (see our France-Wales forecast), which makes us favour Bielle-Biarrey for a bet on the tournament's top try scorer.

James Lowe (Ireland) @10.00

The Irish winger is a real try-scoring machine. He is often found at the top of the top scorers' charts at each edition of the 6 Nations Tournament. In fact, he flattened the ball behind the try line 4 times last year.

With a well-oiled Irish team, Lowe could still be formidable. However, he is a little less fit this season, which explains why he is more of an outsider.

Duhan van der Merwe (Scotland) @10.00

We're off to Scotland now to meet one of the team's strongest performers: Duhan van der Merwe! The Scottish winger is one of the most physical players on the circuit and also a scoring machine. We saw him in action at the 2024 6 Nations Tournament, where he finished joint top try-scorer (5). The South African should once again find opportunities this year.

Dan Sheehan (Ireland) @10.00

Dan Sheehan - Ireland

Here's the other joint top try scorer for 2024! The Irish hooker is a rare phenomenon: a forward capable of scoring regularly. That's why he's one of the contenders for the title of top try scorer this year, along with team-mate James Lowe.

Antoine Dupont (France) @13.00

Finally, we can't leave out the great Antoine Dupont in our list of favourites. The captain of Les Bleus, as flamboyant as ever with Stade Toulousain, is capable of giving his team a few tries in this 2025 edition of the 6 Nations tournament.

Our final opinion: Louis Bielle-Biarrey top scorer at the 2025 6 Nations

Louis Bielle-Biarrey - French XV

Despite the stiff competition, Louis Bielle-Biarrey seems to have a head start. We see the French XV having a very good tournament and that's why we're favouring French players here.

As we explained earlier, we're giving Louis Bielle-Biarrey the edge over Damian Penaud because Penaud won't be playing in Les Bleus' first match, which is a handicap. That's why we've made Louis Bielle-Biarrey (odds 3.00) our favourite for the title of top try-scorer in the 2025 6 Nations Tournament.
