Panthers - Broncos : The SuperBowl 50 under the microscope!
by Constance Rigot | by Constance Rigot
Newton the X factor?
If the two teams on their impassable defences (19.2 and 18.5 points conceded on average this season), the Panthers lead by one Cam Newton, himself playing majestically, possess an uncontestable level of attacking prowress. Their for is easily translated into quite unbelievable stats. Whereas, the Northern Carolina franchise culminates 31.2 points on average the Broncos rest at 22.2, actually the least for a Superbowl finalist in its history. Ron Rivera’s men will have to nonetheless have to rise to the occassion to make the difference in front of a ‘money time’ that could be seen Manning’s Broncos will show their experience in this great meeting…
Odds
Superman takes on Sheriff
Because football is also a history of Quarterbacks, focus is on Cam Newton and Peyton Manning, two geniuses that are polar opposites...
Cam "Superman" Newton
1m96, 112kg: a buffalo for the panthers. At 26 years old, Cam Newton perfectly personifies themodern Quarterback. He is capable of almost anything with his exceptional hands but he is also able to break defensive lines through his running. With 35 passes for those receivng and 10 touchdowns recorded, Newton deserves his nickname of Superman. Unstopabble, he has crushed all defences this season and helped to carry his to 14 victories for just one defeat just before the Super Bowl. Newton is for the NFL Lebron James is for the NBA. He cannot envisage defeat.
Last ride for the Sheriff
On the other side, King Manning will lead the assault. Hs legs are no longer those of a 20 year old but the Sheriff is still able to reveal his weapons. Injured for a good part of the season he has helped his team retrieve the road to the Playoffs and contributed hugely for the Broncos in their qualification to the SuperBowl in winning his deul against Tom Brady (Patriots) in the final of the AFC (20-18). Even if he is not as effective as during his great years, Manning remains a real ‘clutch player’ and will know how to handle the pressure of the event. If their are decisions to be made in the 4th quarter, i twill not be he who trembles, nor he who will hesitate.
Our tips
Cam Newton has to write his name into legend and will not want to miss this meeting with history. Unplayable throughout the season (14-1), the Panthers should logically find the faults in the strong defensive Boncos’ lines and lift the trophy. The odds are a little weak, thus we have selected 3 alternative bets. It won’t just be exciting, we want to win.
- Cam Newton scores at least a Touchdown:
- Panthers winning at half time / Panthers win at full time:
- Panthers by 13 points or more at half time:
