Everything You Need to Know About the Kabaddi World Cup 2025
This year’s World Cup Kabaddi is set to be the largest international Kabaddi event ever, with teams from five continents arriving in the United Kingdom to compete for the coveted title. India, the defending champions, are once again the favourites to claim both the men’s and women’s titles.
More than 60 matches will be played over seven days across four cities: Birmingham, Coventry, Walsall and Wolverhampton. The central location offers easy connectivity, allowing access to over 250 million potential viewers across Europe and enabling easy travel for more than half of the UK’s population within a two-hour radius.
The tournament will follow a league-cum-knockout format, where teams will be divided into groups and the top two teams from each of those groups will advance to the knockout stages of the competition. At the end of the World Cup, individual awards will be presented for:
- Best Raider
- Best Defensive Player
- Best Player (Overall)
- MVP (Each Match)
Additionally, the Team of the Tournament will also be selected, recognising the best players in each category, while a Fairplay award will be presented to the team that best exemplifies sportsmanship throughout the competition.
