The January transfer window has now been open for 11 days, and while the winter market was relatively quiet last year, many clubs have significant business to attend to this time around. Here are some of the latest ins and outs from across Europe so far.

Premier League Winter Window Done Deals

The Premier League transfer window has got off to a slow start but there are plenty of rumours swirling around potential moves before the deadline on February 3. Chief among the talking points this month is the future of Marcus Rashford, who has been linked with a host of European giants, including the likes of AC Milan, Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona. While we wait to see if the England international departs Old Trafford in the coming days, here’s a recap of some deals that have already been completed.

Bournemouth

Bournemouth were one of the first to make moves in the transfer market this month, acquiring the services of two young defenders in Matai Akinmboni and Julio Soler from MLS outfit DC United and Argentine Primeira Divison club Lanus respectively. Andoni Iraola’s side are having their best-ever season in the top-flight, currently in seventh place in the league standings, and we could see their new recruits on show when Bournemouth vs. West Brom in the FA Cup on Saturday afternoon.

Ipswich Town

The Tractor Boys are fighting doggedly to maintain their top-flight status this season, and after taking four points from their last two games, they are now just a single point from safety. Kieran McKenna has already made his first signing of the month, looking to strengthen his defence by bringing in former Everton centre-back Ben Godfrey on loan from Serie A high-flyers Atalanta. Ipswich Town face Bristol Rovers in the FA Cup on Sunday before taking on Brighton in the Premier League in midweek.

Southampton

The Saints have endured a dismal first half of the league campaign and are the favourites, according to the latest Premier League odds, to be relegated back to the Championship this season. New boss Ivan Juric has said that he will look to add to his squad this month in an attempt to survive the drop and he has already seen the arrival of youngster Joachim Kayi Sanda from Valenciennes, while full-back Welington has joined up with his new teammates on the south coast having signed a contract in the summer.

Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs have been ravaged by injury this season, particularly in defence, with both Guglielmo Vicario and Fraser Forster currently sidelined. Young Brandon Austin has featured between the sticks for Ange Postecoglou’s side recently, but the Lilywhites have now brought in reinforcements in the form of Antonin Kinsky from Slavia Prague. Spurs have also secured the signature of 18-year-old South Korean international Yang Min-hyeok, who scored 12 goals and provided five assists for Gangwon FC in the K League 1 in 2024.

Wolverhampton Wanderers

The final major acquisition to date in the Premier League is at Molineux Stadium, with Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Vitor Pereira signing Emmanuel Agbadou from Reims. The Ivorian centre-back has impressed during his time in Ligue 1 and his signature cost Wolves a reported £16m. Agbadou was tossed straight into action, making the starting lineup for the team in their FA Cup third-round clash against Bristol City on Saturday.
