Season 2 of the Indian Street Premier League (ISPL) is set to enter the knockout rounds, with the top four teams from the league phase looking to etch their name in the history books. With the Tigers of Kolkata out of the competition, a new champion will be crowned this year. Here are the teams and schedule heading into the business end of the tournament.

Qualifier 1: Majhi Mumbai vs. Falcon Risers Hyderabad

After ending Season 1 as runners-up, Majhi Mumbai are looking to go one better this year, and so far, Amitabh Bachchan’s side have announced themselves as the team to beat. Mumbai emerged as the top team during the group stage, losing only once while racking up 18 points in their 10 games. That sole defeat came against Srinagar Ke Veer after eight consecutive wins, but they bounced back superbly, beating Chennai Singams by 24 runs in their final round-robin match on Sunday evening. Rajat Mundhe has been incredible with the bat for Mumbai, currently the second-highest run-scorer in the tournament with 251 runs, while Abhishek Kumar Dalhor and Ankur Singh are first and second respectively in the leading wicket-taker standings.

Facing Majhi Mumbai in Qualifier 1 is the Falcon Risers Hyderabad, who finished the group phase in second place with a record of six wins and four losses (12 points), and a net run rate of +0.34. The Hyderabad outfit will look to their star opening batsman Kisan Satpute to lead the charge against the likes of Dalhor and Singh, while Vicky Bhoir (13 wickets) and Parveen Kumar (12 wickets) will be tasked with making the breakthrough with ball in hand. The winner of Qualifier 1 will receive direct entry to the Grand Final on February 15, while the loser will have one more chance to secure a final berth by contesting Qualifier 2, which is set to take place on February 14.

Eliminator: Srinagar Ke Veer vs. KVN Bangalore Strikers

For a second consecutive year, Srinagar Ke Veer are set to feature in the knockout round, though they will be aiming for greater success this time around after bowing out to eventual winners Kolkata last season. Srinagar ended the group stage with five wins and five defeats in their 10 games; however, they were the only team to beat the league leaders Mumbai in the round-robin stage, doing so by seven wickets. The cornerstones of their success have been the performances of Sagar Ali, who is the highest run-scorer in the tournament to date with 372, including a highest score of 52, and Sahil Longale, who has been the chief contributor with the ball, claiming 12 scalps to date.

Rounding out the teams to contest the Eliminator are KVN Bangalore Strikers, who are making their knockout round debut, having exited the tournament in the group stage last year. Bangalore finished fourth with eight points (W4 D0 L6) and pulled off a clutch 34-run victory over Falcon Risers Hyderabad in their final round-robin match to earn a spot in the knockouts. Despite none of the Strikers’ batsmen or bowlers currently featuring in the top five rankings, they do have plenty of class in their ranks, including the likes of Krushna Pawar and Irfan Patel. The teams that ended the group stage in third and fourth place will contest the Eliminator match on February 13, with the winner progressing to Qualifier 2, while the loser will have to exit the competition.
