Grand National 2015 at Aintree: Shutthefrontdoor Favourite!
by Constance Rigot | by Constance Rigot
The Grand National is the legendary Aintree Racecourse which takes place on a distance of 4.5 miles or approximately 7200 meters. Bringing together more than 40 participants, the bumpy test consists of 30 hurdles with an allocation of about £560,000 awarded to the winner. This is why it stands out as the biggest betting event in horseracing every year.
This competition is followed by over 10 million people on average on television, and 70,000 spectators are expected on D-Day at the Aintree Racecourse! The 2015 edition will take place Saturday 11th of April at 4.15pm.
To date, the favorite of the 2015 edition of the Grand National at Aintree is Shutthefrontdoor. having also collected a trophy in April 2014 at the Irish Grand National, it is very unlikely that his skill should be questioned on this type of course. With speculation mounting that Champion Jockey AP McCoy is ready for his final race will likely be partnered with Shutthefrontdoor. Odds at at Bet365.
The Other Runners:
- Rocky Creek, who came in 5th place in this prestigious event in 2014 seems capable of more and could pass the test in 2015. [bet365 offers odds at 9/1 with Bet365]].
- Balthazar King, second in the Grand National Liverpool in 2014 and well known by the French, having seen him win the legendary Grand Cross Country of Craon in September in Mayenne. Punters wanting to back the King at odds of with Bet365.
- The Druids Nephew, winner of the Handicap Chase, always popular in the Cheltenham Festival has undeniable form…and starting to come along, bet365 offers .
- Pineau de Re, which is none other than the defending champion and should therefore not be neglected! We have odds at .
Looking to do better this year, we recommend a victory on King Balthazar at 12/1. Came close to a win last year, he is capable of anything and proved that he was well paced in his last outings.
However, it’s worth noting that on such a difficult course and with so many other competitors on the track, the outsiders are also often at the party, so here are some more speculative odds for the Grand National
