Premier League: A Battle of Four
Renowned as the best championship in the world, the Premier League this year will offer a breathtaking performance and plenty of betting action. Defending champions Chelsea are tipped to retain their title, Arsenal improving their game every year, a reborn and reformed United and City always grounded, we are in for a fierce battle.
Firm Favorites Chelsea
Jose Mourinho had promised Chelsea would be champions in 2014-2015. The Special One may aggravate the football world with his behaviour but the results speak for themselve: titles wherever he goes, including the Premier League and League Cup for the Blues last season. But the only dark cloud that hung over the Blues was their Champions league elimination by 10 men PSG in the round of 16. In a high calibre English Premier League, the competition will be tough, but we reckon Chelsea are yet again favourites for the 2015-2016 season and should reclaim their title with odds trading at .
Manchester United, Back in The Game?
After a disastrous 2013-2014 season, Man United slowly but surely clawed their way back up the table. With the previous year seeing somewhat of a refurbished of the United team with the likes of Radamel Falcao, Luke Shaw, Angel Di Maria... extended the club’s route to the Champions League. With a busy transfer market this summer, new arrivals Bastian Schweinsteiger and Morgan Schneiderlin will bring more stability to the squad and which should turn Old Trafford into an indestructible fortress. The Red Devils remain optimistic about the chances of leading the Premier league this season and alongside Chelsea, who have a good head start, Arsenal and Man City who all qualified for the prestigious 2015-2016 Champions League, it seems like a given that the Red Devils can yet again work their magic for this year. Ladbrokes value this Man United squad to finish top 4 at odds of .
Liga: Only Room for Two?
Year on year, we see the gap widening between duo giants Real Madrid - FC Barcelona and the rest of La Liga. If Atletico Madrid managed to win the title in 2014, it’s unthinkable neither Real nor Barca are unfit to lift the trophy in May 2016...
Real out for Revenge...
A trophyless end to the 2014-2015 season for the great Real and the whole Real institution comes crashing down. After a disappointing season, Carlo Ancelotti has been given the boot and with internal tensions running high, the best players looking to sail to new horizons. A true awakening for the Real side that is unfamiliar to such a drought. Real Madrid are one of the biggest clubs in the world and all is not lost as they refocus their energies and use this failure to take control of a euphoric Barca in 2015-2016. Real’s odds are trading at
Note that Valencia and Sevilla are both at backed at odds of to finish in the top four. With greater financial resources, the Valencians should hit the jackpot.
…And Messi?
With Barça overloaded with glory this season, collectively there is no reason for Messi to envy Cristiano Ronaldo except for the fact that he stole Messi’s glory by picking up Pichichi and the European Golden Shoe. A magnificent end to the season for Ronaldo as he takes top goalscorer spot and winning the Pichichi trophy and European Golden Shoe for the 2nd year running. But what’s even more incredible is Ronaldo has overtaken Messi’s 3 European Golden Shoe award and now holds the record. Cristiano Ronaldo is a legend but what is certain is that the two stars will go for the Golden Shoe award again. The odds are out and in the Spaniard championship, the Portuguese is tipped favourite to take the top goalscorer spot for the third time with odds trading at versus for his dearest rival.
Bundesliga: Predictable Once Again…!
In Germany, Bayern Munich are solid favourites. Led by Pep Guardiola, the Bavarian club main objective will be the Champions League. Wolfsburg, Dortmund or Leverkusen will fight for top spot in the Bundesliga championship.
Bayern on route for 26th title
In a pre-determined league, Bayern Munich has a tight grip over Bundesliga with three straight league wins clear of 25, 19 and 10 points ahead of the runner-up. Predictable once again to claim glory from the outset we see the outright winner markets back Munich on diminished odds of
Dortmund back to the forefront?
Crowned champions back in 2011 and 2012, runner-up in 2013 and again in 2014, Dortmund should prepare themselves for a complicated 2015-16 season. At risk of falling into Bundesliga second division, Borussia ended last season’s campaign by finishing seventh, qualifying for the Europa league. It’s hard to say what we can expect from this side but we are guessing their main focus will be to seek redemption and return to fighting form. Bwin offers promising odds of
French Ligue 1: PSG...All that Counts!!
After a transition period, it took them a while but they soon leaped into the top spot and now PSG seem comfortable on the throne in the French League. The succession of world talent on this Parisian team has finally enhanced the image of the French Ligue 1. Behind PSG, Lyon, Monaco, Marseille, Saint Etienne and Bordeaux will scuffle it out for their European ticket.
Unconvincing and lagging behind Lyon last season, Paris Saint-Germain still managed to hold on to their title dream and went onto win their third consecutive league silverware. The capitals clubs jam-packed of world class stars went the distance and on several tables. For the 2015-2016 season, the title seems like a done deal. Logically, the Parisians have reduced odds at to win their 6th league title.
Lyon and Monaco
Behind PSG, the big question is who will finish top 3? Answer, pegged favourites Lyon and Monaco, 2nd and 3rd respectively will do their best to stay close. For Lyon, everything depends on their champions league campaign, if they manage to get pass the knock-out stages, they will have a difficult task juggling multiple tables due to the shifts in their current squad. But we believe they will yet again be able to put up a challenge for giants PSG. For Monaco, their mission remains the same as last season: finish top 3 by continuing their resurgence and especially by maintaining their rock solid defense line. Stephan El Shaarawy, a welcomed addition to the team who has just left AC Milan to join Monaco’s frontline could help the club’s future by pulling them out of the old boring and tiresome defensive routine.
We are likely to see these two clubs finish in the top 3 and their odds are trading at for both clubs.
Serie A: Juventus Finally Dethroned?
The Italians are definitely one of the most undecided championships where the top 8 battle for their champion’s league campaign. Juventus has a good head start on the competition, but following closely you have Milan, Napoli and Rome also launching for the title. Who Will Win Serie A In 2015-16?
Can any club derail Juve?
Firm favourites Juventus, looking for their fifth title this year, as did rivals Inter Milan between 2006 and 2010. Let’s face it, the performance gap between the Turin and the rest is merely comparable and so they hardly face a big threat despite the big changes this summer in their transfer market. If a new Juventus coronation tempts you, their odds are priced at .
Inter Milan Top 3? We Believe So!
Inter recorded a very disappointing 2014-2015 season living without a European Cup. An unprecedented situation but does not mean completely removing the attraction from this Milanese club. After signing the likes of Geoffrey Kongdobia for 40 million, they are making their intensions clear and will delight some demoralised fans. Even though the title is hard to get, we believe Inter Milan will finish in the top 3 and 888sport have priced them up at and for the same bet AS Roma, second in 2015 at with the same bookie.
