The final matchday comes with its share of expectation and disappointments. The Euroleague reveals its top 10 at the dawn of the 34th day. We'll see Paris Basket and Monaco in the post-season, but before the playoffs, the standings can still change. Let's take a look at the various possible scenarios before the final 40 minutes of the 2024-2025 season.

An exciting end to the Euroleague regular season

This year's Euroleague regular season has not disappoint us so far! Before the start of this final day, 10 teams will be fighting for a better position in the standings. Whether it's for the play-in or the playoffs, the 9 games scheduled for Thursday and Friday evening are a must-watch.

Let's start with the top of the table, where there's less suspense. Olympiakos lead the league by one win from Fenerbahce. Whatever happens, Thrylos will have home advantage, as will runners-up Panathinaikos, with 21 wins to their name. Positions may change depending on results this week, but the aforementioned trio will certainly have home advantage in a few days' time.

Here are the current Euroleague standings:

  1. Olympiakos I 23 wins - 10 losses
  2. Fenerbahçe I 22 wins - 11 losses
  3. Panathinaïkos I 21 wins - 12 losses
  4. Monaco I 20 wins - 13 losses
  5. Anadolu Efes I 19 wins - 14 losses
  6. Real Madrid I 19 wins - 14 losses
  7. Bayern Munich I 19 wins - 14 losses
  8. Barcelone I 19 wins - 14 losses
  9. Étoile Rouge Belgrade I 18 wins - 15 losses
  10. Paris Basket I 18 wins - 15 losses

The intense race to reach the playoffs and avoid the play-in

Currently, Monaco holds the in the 4th spot (20-13) which gives them a direct spot and home advantage in the playoffs. This spot is targeted by four other teams on the European scene: Anadolu Efes, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Barcelona. Our ASVEL - Monaco prediction believes that it's unlikely for Monaco to suffer a loss. However, should the Roca Team lose on ASVEL's floor on Thursday night, here's the worst-case scenario: the loss of the number four spot and an exit from the top 6 to contest the play-in. It's up to the Monegasques to pull out all the stops in the second half to avoid this situation, especially as some of their opponents are preparing to play teams beyond the top 10.

No team wants to play in the play-in. However, 7 teams are involved in this post-season mini-tournament: Monaco, then Anadolu Efes, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Paris Basket and Red Star Belgrade. From 5th to 8th, the results are as follows: 19 wins - 14 losses. For the Serbian squad and the Parisian club, the total is 18 wins - 15 losses.

The battle to avoid the play-in tournament promises to be fierce.

In the event of a good result for the club based in the Principality, the other teams will still be able to fight for places 5 and 6, synonymous with the playoffs without home advantage, as explained in our Euroleague prediction. Then, the last two teams in the top 10 can aim for a place on the leading wagon, or home advantage in the play-offs.

We'll be keeping a close eye on every game, especially as there are some direct clashes on the calendar: Partizan Belgrade vs Real Madrid, Bayern Munich vs Fenerbahce or Panathinaikos vs Red Star Belgrade. As on the final day of the Champions League, you'll need to follow each result closely to see how the standings evolve minute by minute.
