Barça vs Juve: Clash of the Titans!
Barcelona and Juventus have something in common: both have won nationally. And therefore, it’s no surprise that these two giants meet in Berlin for the Champions League final with a quadruple history in sight. Who’s worthy of the perfect season?
How they got there?
At one stage, it looked likely that Juve would never cross the famous line on their European campaign. Backed against a complicated Group A (Atletico, Olympiakos, Malmö), the Turin have nonetheless managed to come back from hell to clinch their place in the knockout stages. Since then we’ve seen them continue to power forward. Firstly, irresistible against Dortmund (winning 2-1 and 0-3), they then went on to knock-out Monaco (1-0, 0-0) and finally thrashed the great Real (2-1, 1-1). Plus crowned the champions in the home league since 2005/2006, will not give up the chance to lift the supreme trophy for the third time.
The Catalans have trembled much less to reach this final. First in Group F (PSG, Ajax, Apoel), they then bit off Manchester City, Paris and Bayern. A few days after went for the King's Cup (3-1 win against Bilbao), the Catalans, who turned over 3 goals per game this season, approach this final with bucket full of confidence. With its compact defensive block and the experience of their star-studded team, does Juventus really have any chance of evading Messi and his team?
The Stats
Barcelona- 10 wins, 2 losses in this Champions League campaign. With 28 goals scored and only 10 goals conceded. Slightly lower statistics than those displayed nationally (more than 3 goals/game). As for their opponents: Juve as always relied on its defense line to make the difference: only 7 goals conceded in 12 games! With Buffon in goal and with an absolutely intractable Bonucci-Chiellini hinge, can the Barça trio Messi-Neymar-Suarez trio, author of 25 of the 28 goals scored by Barca in the competition, crack the best defense in Europe?
The Best Betting Tips
With 17 goals in 28 in the first-half, Barcelona do not drag their feet in the Champions League. And if Juve can concede 5 in 7 goals in the competition during the first half, we have no hesitation in advising the bet "Barcelona scores over 0.5 goals at half-time” backed by .
Messi first goalscorer is also worth trying. Besides being exceptional scoring again facing Bilbao for the King's Cup, the Argentinean has opened the scoring in 5 of the last 8 games played by Barca. We would also go for Messi, anytime goal scorer with odds of . Leo has scored more than one goal per game this season (43 in 38 games)...
Finally, and an absolute winner could be on over 2.5 goals at . If the Italian defense cracked in the first period, the match could quickly bolt. Especially, knowing that 6 of the last 8 matches played by Barça in the Champions League saw at least 3 goals!
