Just Why this bet should be a Winner
- Manchester City v Dynamo Kiev – Manchester City to win
Manchester City are in prime positon to reach the quarter finals of the Champions League for the first time. They often have a bumpy ride in the Champions League despite all their success in England. This year has been a lot better though after a shaky start when they lost their opening qualifier to Juventus. Since then they have won five of their six games, the only other loss being the away leg to Juventus. Home form has since them win their last two against Sevilla and Monchengladbach with six goals being scored. They have a solid 3-1 lead from the first leg and should again be dominant here. Kiev did beat Porto and Maccabi Tel Aviv away from home in their group but lost 2-1 to Chelsea. They have to come out attacking here so that could well play into the hands of City.
- Atletico Madrid v PSV – Atletico Madrid to win
The Spanish side held PSV to a goalless draw in Holland and should be able to finish the job off here. They did lose at home to Benfica earlier in the season but that was their first home European defeat since 2013. Atletico have only suffered one home defeat in La Liga this season and recently went to Real Madrid and won. In La Liga they are on a six game unbeaten run since a loss at Barcelona and have just one defeat in 12. PSV could really have done with getting a first leg lead as their away form in the Champions League isn’t very inspiring. Nine of the ten points they earned in the group stages came from home wins, their only point on the road was a 0-0 draw at Manchester United. This is their 13th away tie in Spain and they haven’t won any yet with four draws and eight defeats. Head to head they’ve lost twice to Madrid before the goalless first leg this year. Madrid can win this.
- Barcelona v Arsenal – Barcelona to win
Barcelona begin this second leg with a 2-0 advantage after two late goals at the Emirates. They are in supreme form at present eight points clear at the top of La Liga with 54 points out of the last 60. In the Champions League they are unbeaten with 11 goals scored and just one conceded. Arsenal aren’t in the greatest of form at present with just one win in the last five games and that was over a Championship side in the FA Cup. They did beat Olympiakos away in the group stages but suffered away defeats to Dinamo Zagreb and a 5-1 thrashing by Bayern Munich. Barcelona can finish the job off here with another win.
