Just Why this bet should be a Winner
- Benfica to beat Zenit St Petersburg
Benfica are in excellent form at present, especially at home. They came through a tough qualifying group up against Atletico Madrid, Galatasaray and Astana. They beat both Galatasaray and Astana at home but lost to Atletico, though they did beat them away. Zenit had a much easier group against Gent (who they lost to away), Valencia and Lyon. Benfica are definitely capable of getting a first leg lead here.
- Gent v Wolfsburg – both teams to score
Gent have done well to get this far in the competition having to play Zenit St Petersburg, Valencia and Lyon to qualify in second place. Five out of their six qualifiers saw both teams score. German side Wolfsburg will be a tough team to beat in the last sixteen but of all the teams Gent could have drawn, this is probably their best chance of reaching the quarter finals. The Germans came top of their group ahead of PSV, Manchester United and CSKA Moscow, impressive results indeed. Of their six qualifiers, they scored in five of their six games and two of the away matches so are well capable of finding the net here and getting an important away goal. Current league form in Germany is poor, especially away from home where they have only won once so keeping a clean sheet here is unlikely too.
