• Wolfsburg v Gent – Wolfsburg to win

German side Wolfsburg should be able to win this match and reach their first ever Champions League quarter-final. They lead 3-2 from the first leg but will be kicking themselves they don’t have a much easier qualification task here. With ten minutes to go they led 3-0 in Belgium but conceded two late goals. Wolfsburg won all three of their home games in their qualifying group. A great result considering they had to face Manchester United, PSV Eindhoven and CSKA Moscow. Home form in the Bundesliga is strong too with seven wins out of 13 and only Bayern Munich and Dortmund (the top two in the league) have won there. Gent won in Lyon in their qualifying group but lost at both Zenit St Petersburg and Valencia. A home win is definitely on the cards here.

Real Madrid may have lost in La Liga on Saturday but they are in a strong position in this tie. The fact they’re unlikely to win La Liga this season means they will concentrate even more effort on the Champions League.
