The stadiums for the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d'Ivoire
Played from 13 January to 11 February 2024 in Côte d'Ivoire, the African Cup of Nations is the major event of the beginning of next year in terms of international football.
Naturally covered by our African football specialists from A to Z on our AFCON prediction page, the competition promises to be thrilling for all lovers of African football, with nations such as Morocco, Cameroon, Côte d'Ivoire, Senegal and Algeria taking part.
A total of 5 host cities have been chosen by the Ivorian Football Federation and CAF: Abidjan, Bouaké, Yamoussoukro, San Pedro and Korhogo. We take a closer look at the 2024 AFCON stadiums in this article.

Laurent Pokou Stadium (San Pedro)
Named after Ivorian legend Laurent Pokou, a striker who played for Rennes in the 1970s, the 20,000-capacity San Pedro stadium is located in the south-west of Côte d'Ivoire. It will play host to some fine nations at AFCON 2024, including Morocco, Mali and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Stade Amadou Gon Coulibaly (Korhogo)
Former prime minister of Côte d'Ivoire (2017-2020), Amadou Gon Coulibaly gave his name to the stadium in the town of Korhogo, in the north of the country. It was built between 2018 and 2023, this brand-new stadium has a seating capacity of around 20,000. During the African Cup of Nations in 2024, it will host almost all the matches in Group E.

Stade de la Paix (Bouaké)
Based right in the centre of Côte d'Ivoire, the town of Bouaké has also been chosen as a host city for the 2024 African Cup of Nations. Its Stade de la Paix, which opened to the public in 1984 and has been renovated in recent years, can accommodate more than 40,000 people, making it the third-largest stadium in the competition. Cameroon and Algeria, among others, will be playing there.

Charles Konan Banny Stadium (Yamoussoukro)
The Stade Charles Konan Banny is the stadium in the Ivorian capital, Yamoussoukro. Named after the country's former prime minister (2005-2007), it has a capacity of around 20,000 and the advantage of being ultra-modern given its opening date (2022). Senegal, the reigning African champions, will begin their quest for a second title there.

Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium (Abidjan)
Located in the Plateau district of Abidjan, the Felix Houphouët-Boigny Stadium is one of two stadiums in Côte d'Ivoire's largest city. With a capacity of almost 45,000, the stadium usually hosts matches for ASEC Mimosas, one of the country's biggest clubs, and regularly plays host to the Elephants of Côte d'Ivoire. Unsurprisingly, several major nations will be playing at the stadium during the African Cup of Nations in early 2024.

Alassane Ouattara Olympic Stadium (Abidjan)
Finally, the largest stadium at this 2024 Africa Cup of Nations is the Stade Olympique in Abidjan, renamed the Stade Alassane Ouattara in honour of the current President of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire. With a seating capacity of 60,000, it is by far the largest stadium in the competition and will host the final of the tournament on 11 February 2024. Among other things, the Côte d'Ivoire national team will play its group-stage matches there.
