World number 62 Zizou Bergs will face off with world number 51 Roberto Bautista Agut to begin his Qatar Open campaign. They will battle in the first round with the winner playing Karen Khachanov or Danill Medvedev next. Below is our prediction for this match.

Bergs has been in terrific form in 2025 and will arrive fully confident of making a winning start to his Doha debut. The Belgian has won 12 of 16 matches and only once has he lost a first-round tie.

Bergs began the season with a runner-up finish in Auckland as a qualifier and is now coming off a semi-final finish in Marseille. This exciting start to the season has propelled him back into the ATP top 60 and is now ranked 58th in the live ranking.

Bautista Agut is having a torrid start to the year. The Spaniard hasn’t won any of his three matches and dating back to last season, is now on a five-match losing streak.

He lost in the first round in Adelaide, Melbourne and then most recently in Rotterdam. Returning to a tournament he has excelled in in the past, will have the 36-year-old confident of ending this negative stretch.

Bautista Agut, who is currently 54th in the live ranking, is a two-time Doha champion. He triumphed here for the first time in 2019 and then more recently in 2022.
