Zhizhen Zhang is the 32nd seed and has a tough match against unseeded Jan-Lennard Struff in round two at Wimbledon. Next up for the winner is a third round match against either fifth seed Daniil Medvedev or unseeded Alexandre Muller.

Zhang is 38th in the latest ranking list and up to 32nd after his first round win. The Chinese player beat the qualifier Maxime Janvier in straight sets on Monday. This is the first time he's in the second round at Wimbledon since 2022. 

A win here will see him into round three for the first time. So far on grass courts this year, his best performance has been getting to the last four of the Halle Open. He beat Medvedev in that tournament but lost to Jannik Sinner in the semi-final.

Jan-Lennard Struff was only three places lower than Zhang in the latest ranking list. He's been as high as 21st (achieved last year) and only dropped out of the top 32 earlier in 2024. The first round saw him beat Fabian Marozsan in four sets, losing the second on a tie-break.

That win has taken Struff up to 40th in the live rankings. He's 26th in the ATP Race and that's ten places higher than his opponent. The German has reached the third round here twice but not since 2019. The last two appearances both saw him lose in round one.

He leads Zhang 1-0 in previous main draw matches on the ATP Tour. That was a significant win as it was on grass in Stuttgart last year. Their only other match was a qualifying match played on hard courts and Struff won that one too. We go for over 3.5 sets to be played.
