Zhizhen Zhang vs Christopher Eubanks Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Halle Open

World number 39 Zhizhen Zhang will face 42nd-ranked Chris Eubanks in the quarter-final of the ATP Halle Open on Friday. This is the first meeting between these two on any surface. Zhang’s second grass-court tournament of the year is shaping up to be his best on any surface to date. He suffered a first-round loss in Stuttgart a couple of weeks ago, but a win here will see him reach an ATP semi-final for the first time this year. His previous best was also a quarter-final appearance at the Rome Masters. The Chinese player pulled off arguably the upset of the competition so far, beating world number three Daniil Medvedev in three sets in the last round. That followed a three-set win over Sebastian Ofner in the opening round in a match that required two tiebreakers to decide. While Zhang has no previous grass-court highlights to speak of, taking down a former Grand Slam champion in the last round sees him enter this match as the bookmakers’ favourite.

Meanwhile, Chris Eubanks has had an underwhelming season with this being his first quarter-final appearance at an ATP event to date. His previous best this year was reaching the round of 16 at the Dallas Open. The American began his grass swing with a first-round exit to Brandon Nakashima in Stuttgart at the start of the month. However, like Zhang, Eubanks claimed a massive scalp in the last round, knocking out defending champion Alexander Bublik in three gruelling sets. That followed a straight-sets win over Spain’s Pedro Martinez in round one. Eubanks had a solid grass-court swing last year when he won the Mallorca Open and reached the quarter-final at Wimbledon. Indeed, injury did set him back late in the year but the American is looking sharp and cannot be written off in this one.
