Zhizhen Zhang vs Cameron Norrie Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Mutua Madrid Open

Eleventh seed Cameron Norrie and the unseeded Zhizhen Zhang will on Monday battle for a place in the fourth round of the Mutua Madrid Open. The third-round match will be played on an outdoor clay court and will be the first meeting between the two. Zhizhen Zhang is making his debut in Madrid where he has already boosted his world ranking to number 95 in the ATP live standings which is thanks to his three sets victory over 21st seed and former semifinalist here Denis Shapovalov. The Chinese number two arrived in Madrid ranked 99th and can break his career-high ranking of number 91 if he wins on Monday. Zhang has had a rocky start to the season and currently has a run of 12 losses and 10 wins from the 22 matches he has played. Half of his total wins have come on clay and he will hope this enables him to prolong his stay here in Madrid. Madrid is the highlight of his season so far as he has been able to record his first two wins in a Masters tournament.

Cameron Norrie has equaled his best-ever result here in what is only his second appearance in Madrid. He was eliminated in this very same round in his debut here last season and will hope the same fate doesn’t befall him. The Briton had a rocky lead-up to the tournament with four losses from five matches but he nonetheless started things off on a winning note with his opening-round victory over qualifier Yosuke Watanuki. He looked a bit wobbly in the straight sets win especially in the second set where he was forced to seven games. This will not alarm him though as he has once again been superb on clay this season and has won 12 of the 15 matches he has played. His form on clay has seen him win one title already (Rio Open) and make it to the final of another (Buenos Aires). This has propelled him closer to getting back into the top 10 and is currently ranked 13th in the live ranking.
