Zhizhen Zhang vs Alexandre Muller Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Marseille

Zhizhen Zhang and Alexandre Muller, both unseeded, will battle each other in the opening round in Marseille. The winner will then next play either Felix Auger-Aliassime or Quentin Halys for a place in the quarterfinals. Zhizhen Zhang has had a shaky start to the year and in his seven matches so far has been defeated four times. He was most recently participating in the Davis Cup where he won one and lost the other of his two matches. Zheng isn’t a strong performer on indoor hard courts. He has compiled an 11-16 record on the surface in his career. But as he has won twice against Muller in their four previous meetings, he will fancy his chances here. The 27-year-old is currently ranked 50th in the live ranking which is a career best.

Alexandre Muller has also won twice against Zheng. He defeated the Chinese number one last February in Doha the last time they met. It was the only meeting between them thus far to have been played outside of clay. As he arrives for this latest encounter faring better than Zheng, the Frenchman will be confident of a win. Muller has compiled a 5-4 and is coming off a second-round exit in Montpellier. The 27-year-old is a far better player on indoor hard courts than Zheng and is much more experienced on the surface too. Since turning pro, Muller has played more than 80 matches on the surface, and more than half he has won. The French number six starts a new week up two places in the live ranking to number 71.
