Yulia Putintseva vs Kateryna Baindl Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA Hungarian Grand Prix

Yulia Putintseva is the top seed in the Budapest Grand Prix and takes on Kateryna Kozlova in the last eight.  The world number 42 from Khazakhstan is also the only seed left in the top half of the draw. In fact, there's only one other seed still in the tournament and that's second seeded Dannielle Collins. Putintseva is chasing only her second WTA Tour title, the other being the Nuremberg Cup on clay two years ago. Another clay court title is looking possible this week. It took Putintseva until April to get to the last eight of a tournament. That was a clay event in Charleston, though she was a bit lucky getting past Garbine Muguruza who won the first set against her 6-0 before retiring in the second. Another Quarter Final was reached in Strasbourg but she lost to Ons Jabeur in the first round at Roland Garros. Putintseva made it to the second round at Wimbledon, but lost in the first round of a Hamburg clay court event last week. Better form has been shown in Budapest with two straight sets wins over Ekaterine Gorgodze and Ana Konjuh.

Kateryna Kozlova began this tournament as the world number 154. Her career highest ranking though is 62nd three years ago. 2021 has been largely uneventful for the Ukranian with nine wins and nine losses up to this week. This is her first time past the last 16 all year with wins coming over Barbara Hass and then coming from behind to beat fifth seeded Ana Bogdan. There have been two previous matches between Putintseva and Kozlova. Both took place in China in 2018 and they are level at 1-1. Putintseva has progressed further than her opponent since then.
