Yoshihito Nishioka vs Frances Tiafoe Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Atlanta Open

No seeded players stand between third seed Frances Tiafoe and the hard court Atlanta Open final. The American has a semi-final match against unseeded Yoshihito Nishioka. On this page we'll look at both players and make our prediction.

Tiafoe may have withdrawn from the Paris Olympics but he could still be celebrating in a few days time. The 26-year-old is the world number 29 and still in that position in the live rankings. This is his fifth ATP Tour quarter-final of the year and is 43rd in the ATP Live Race.

He had lost three of his last four hard court matches before this tournament. After a good run at Wimbledon that saw him nearly beat Carlos Alcaraz, he's  hoping for better form on hard courts in the lead up to this year's US Open Grand Slam.

This week has seen him play just one match. That was against unseeded Aslan Karatsev and he had to go to a final set to get the victory. He's had four previous matches against Nishioka. The Japanese player won a Challenger Tour final against him eight years ago but Tiafoe has won their three matches on the ATP Tour.

Nishioka was ranked 86th in the latest list but was as high as 24th in June 2023. This run to the last eight in Atlanta has seen him rise to 78th in the live list. The Japanese player is in his second quarter-final in three tournaments.

He also made it to the last eight of the Eastbourne tournament but that was played on grass. He's had an inconsistent year on hard courts and this is his first quarter-final of the year. Wins have come against Zachary Svajda and Mackenzie McDonald, both in straight sets. We tip Tiafoe to win this match in straight sets.
