Eighth seed Katie Boulter and qualifier Yanina Wickmayer will meet in the semifinals of the ITF W100 Surbiton Trophy on Saturday. A meeting with either unseeded Katie Swan or wildcard Yuriko Miyazaki in the final awaits the winner. Wickmayer is at the semifinals for the second time here. She’s however never reached the final and will hope to advance this time, considering the form she is in. The Belgian has won 31 of the 40 matches she has played this season and is yet to lose on grass with five victories. She defeated Daria Snigur in three sets in the last round and has now won 11 of her last 12 matches. Wickmayer has however lost both meetings with Boulter and will be wary of the threat she poses. The win over Snigur moved her up eight places to 132nd in the live ranking.

Katie Boulter has defeated Wickmayer twice with one of those victories coming on grass. That was however five seasons ago. She will nonetheless be confident of winning, as the last meeting between the two was eight months ago. The Brit has also been in good form in 2023 and comes to this match having won 22 of her 30 matches. She defeated Viktorija Golubic in straight sets in the previous round, her second straight-sets victory at the tournament. Boulter is currently ranked 125th in the live ranking and is through to the semifinals for the first time. This is her third appearance in Surbiton and comes five years after her last.
