Worcestershire vs Essex Prediction & Betting Tips - T20 Blast

The T20 tournament began in 2003 but no team has ever managed to retain the trophy. That could all change when Worcestershire take on Essex in the 2019 final. They beat Sussex last year and disposed of those rivals in this season's quarter finals with Moeen Ali in top form hitting a century. That win took Worcestershire into a semi-final against Nottinghamshire and it looked as if their title reign was going to come to an end. They batted first and Moeen was again in good form scoring 21 off eight balls before being bowled. Wessels made 34 off 38 balls but a mid-order collapse saw them slump to 97-7. Whiteley and Mitchell added 43 in just under five overs and Worcs made it to a respectable 147-9. In reply. Nottinghamshire made an impressive start with Nash and Hales adding 51 for the first wicket. Notts were 100-1 with six overs remaining and needed only 10 to win off the last two overs but Worcs kept it tight and won a thriller by 1 run to reach the final.

Essex are bidding to win the T20 and County Championship this week. They beat Derbyshire by  in the second semi-final. Essex batted first and got off to an excellent start with Westley and Davenport adding 78 for the first wicket in eight overs. They slumped to 107-4 but Bopara with 27 from 23 balls and Wheater with 27 not out off 17 deliveries helped Essex to 160-5. Derbyshire, playing in their first finals day, struggled in reply and continually lost wickets being bowled out for 126 to lose by 34 runs. Essex are a strong side and can get the win here to complete the first half of a momentous double.
