Winnipeg Jets vs St. Louis Blues Prediction & Betting Tips - NHL
by Joseph King | in NHL Predictions
The Winnipeg Jets and the St. Louis Blues are set to face off at the Canada Life Centre in Winnipeg for this Monday night NHL matchup. The Jets will be hoping to get back to winning ways after a poor run of recent form has seen them win just two of their last seven games and drop three consecutive games on the bounce. Winnipeg were shutout in their last outing, falling 4-0 at home to the Flyers, their second straight home defeat after previously losing 3-2 to the Sabres. They still have the chance to turn around this five game homestand however, with their next three encounters coming in front of the home fans, starting with this matchup against the Blues. Winnipeg currently sit second in the Central division with 31 wins, 19 losses and one overtime defeat, putting them on 63 points and just three points behind first-place Dallas. The Jets have been strong on their home ice this season, winning 17 of their 25 total games at the Canada Life Centre.
On the other side, St. Louis come into this encounter on a similarly poor run of form. The Blues have now lost four consecutive games following their 4-2 away defeat to the Avalanche, representing their second consecutive away loss on their current three game road trip. St. Louis have won 23 of their 50 games so far on the season with an additional 24 losses and three overtime defeats to give them a total of 49 points. The visitors sit sixth in the Central division and are a full 14 points behind their opponents today. The Blues have been leaking goals lately which has acted as a major catalyst for their recent struggles. They’ve now conceded a total of 19 goals over their last four games, all losses, while only managing to net eight for themselves. The Blues 181 goals conceded on the season is the highest mark in the Central division and the seventh highest in the entire NHL.

Our Winnipeg Jets vs St. Louis Blues Prediction
Winnipeg are the much stronger of the two sides despite both teams carrying lengthy losing streaks into this matchup. Winnipeg, however, seem to be the much more likely team to put an end to their current predicament as they have yet to lose more than three games on the bounce this season while the Blues have become familiar with lengthy losing streaks. The Jets have been the superior team in the head-to-head meetings between these two teams and expect that to continue on Monday. The current moneyline price is a bit steep so we see value in backing the hosts to win the match within the three period regulation time.
