Winnipeg Jets vs Colorado Avalanche Prediction & Betting Tips - NHL

A fight for the top of the Central division as the 18-9-2 Colorado Avalanche go to Winnipeg to take on the 17-9-2 Jets. The Jets are having to cope without Kyle Connor who leads the team in goals with 17 this season. Mark Scheifele is the only other Jet in double figures with 11 so to have Connor missing for 6-8 weeks with a knee injury is a massive blow to the club. A bright spark for the Jets this season has been the emergence of 22-year-old Cole Perfetti. He picked up 30 points in 51 games this season and is well on target to pass that with 19 already this campaign although he has struggled a little bit of late, without a point in his last five games. The teams met earlier in the month in Denver where the Jets came away with the two points after a 4-2 victory. Connor had a brace in that game, including an empty net tally to put the game to bed in the last 40 seconds. The Jets have a similar record at home and on the road this season, looking a well-balanced side.
The Colorado Avalanche are the team who have led the way in the Central division this season after winning it in both 2022 when they lifted the Stanley Cup and in 2023. Both the Dallas Stars and the Winnipeg Jets are hot on their heels this season so a win in Canada would be a big boost to giving them a little bit of breathing space. Both those teams have played fewer games than the Avs but Colorado has a schedule before the end of the year with a pair of games with San Jose, a pair with Arizona as well as Ottawa, Chicago and St Louis so this Winnipeg game will be their biggest test for the remainder of 2023. Even without captain Gabriel Landeskog for the season, the Avs are one of the most potent offensive teams in the league but they are playing a team who kept them quiet just last week and may well do so again.
