Andy Murray has had a tough time getting through to the last four of this French Open. He's had two five sets games, neither of which anyone thought would get that far. He has improved as the tournament has progressed with some good wins over Isner and Gasquet and has had a day off in preparation for this game so hopefully he'll be fit and ready for this semi-final. He's 8-7 up on his Swiss opponent in their head to heads but recent games have seen Wawrinka win the last three all in straight sets. The last meeting was in 2015 at the ATP World Tour Finals but the two before that were three years ago. Their last match on clay was in the 2013 Monte Carlo Masters with Murray winning just three games, he's improved a heck of a lot on clay since then. The other two meetings on clay have been shared but they were years ago. Wawrinka is the defending champion here so he has to be feared. The number four ranked player in the world had to recover from two sets to one down against Lukas Rosol in the first round and also dropped a set to Viktor Troicki in the last sixteen. He's fresh from winning a clay tournament in Geneva but didn't beat a top ten player. The rest of his clay season hasn't been that impressive. As long as Murray keeps fit I think he can get the win here.
