Wales - Argentina: Form Analysis
Wales came into the tournament with a less-than-impressive record. They finished second bottom in the Six Nations and lost two of their three warm-up matches. However, they have got progressively better as the competition has gone on. The Dragons kicked off with a narrow victory over Fiji before putting on a better display to beat Portugal 28-8. However, arguably their best performance came in their third match, where they smashed Australia 40-6 and ultimately sent the Wallabies packing from the competition. Wales completed the group stages with a 43-19 win over Georgia to claim the top spot.
Meanwhile, Argentina went into their opening match of the tournament against England as favourites. However, they failed to live up to the tag as the Red Roses, led by George North, secured a 27-10 victory. Los Pumas then took on Samoa with a second-string side and claimed their first win of the tournament. A demolition of Chile followed before they secured their spot in the last eight by beating Japan 39-27 last week. Still, this will be a difficult match for Argentina, who lost to Wales 20-13 back in November last year. In addition, over the 21 meetings between these nations, Los Pumas have only won six while losing 14 and drawing one.

Wales & Argentina Squad Analysis
Wales received a major injury boost in the week, with the experienced Dan Biggar being cleared fit to start. He will assume the kicking duties in place of Gareth Anscombe, who has been ruled out for the foreseeable future with a groin injury. Liam Williams also passed a late fitness test and is tossed straight back into the full-back role with Louis Rees-Zammit and Josh Adams on either flank.
Argentina were dealt a late blow with flanker Pablo Matera picking up an injury, and he has now been ruled out for the remainder of the tournament. Juan Martin Gonzalez will move into Matera’s spot on the flank, while Facundo Isa will wear the number eight jersey. The frontline remains unchanged, featuring Thomas Gallo, Julian Montoya, and Francisco Gomez Kodela.

Our Wales vs Argentina Prediction
While Los Pumas have improved notably this year, Wales are looking like a very solid unit and are likely to win the battle of the packs in this one. The kicking game could be extremely important here, and with Biggar back in the side, Wales may just have the upper hand. This should be a tight match, but we’re siding with the Welsh to win by four or more points. Our Wales vs Argentina prediction: Handicap Wales -4.
