Sixth placed Virtus Bologna host ALBA Berlin (who are 15th) in their third Euroleague game of the new season. The home side have won one and lost one so far this season. They lost their opening match 82-79 to Zalgiris Kaunas but led that game by seven points going into the final quarter. Virtus couldn't hold onto their lead though, losing that fourth quarter by ten points. The Italian team had better luck in their second EuroLeague game of the season defeating Monaco 83-59. All four quarters of that match against the French team were won. Gabriel Lundberg put in an impressive all-round performance. He scored 14 points, four rebounds and four assists. Luca Banchi is their new coach, he replaced Sergio Scarlolo who lost his position in mid-September. Virtus are top of Italy's Lega A with all three of their games being won. They'll hope to do better in the EuroLeague (which they won 22 years ago) after finishing 14th last season with a 14-20 season record.

ALBA Berlin are yet to earn a point in this year's EuroLeague. They have lost both of their matches this season, beginning with a 80-68 loss away to Bayern. That was followed by a 91-86 defeat by Baskonia. Their problem has been the third quarter with them losing it by 25-7 against Bayern and 25-14 in the loss to Baskonia. They finished 16th in EuroLeague last season, winning only 11 of their 34 matches. Berlin are third in the German Bundesliga with a 2-1 record.
