Viktoriya Tomova vs Emma Navarro Prediction & Betting Tips - Hobart International

Emma Navarro looks to continue her good start to 2024 with a win over lucky loser Viktoriya Tomova in the Hobart International quarter finals. For the winner there's a semi-final against either  a qualifier, either Yuan Yue or Yulia Putintseva. Navarro has set a new career high of 30th by reaching the quarter finals of this hard court tournament. Her previous career high was 31st and it's a considerable improvement on her ranking this time last year. The American was over 100 places lower in January 2023 but had a successful year with five ITF events being held, two of which were on hard courts which is the surface being played on this week in Hobart. The 22-year-old is bidding to reach her second successive semi-final. Last week saw her get to the last four in Auckland, being beaten by the eventual champion Coco Gauff. Her good form has continued this week with a come-from-behind win against Clara Burel and then a straight sets win over qualifier Magdalena Frech. 

It's been a strange week for Viktoriya Tomova but here she is with a chance of reaching the last four. Tomova had to go through the qualifying rounds and struggled against Kayla Day in her first match, losing the first set. In the final qualifying round, Tomova lost in straight sets to Magadalena Frech (who later lost to Navarro). With players withdrawing from the tournament, the world number 77 was reinstated as a lucky loser. Her form has improved with wins over Martina Trevisan and ninth seeded Tatyana Maria. No sets have been lost in the main draw with only seven games lost and just one against Maria. Her run looks like ending here and we tip Navarro to get the win.
