Olga Danilovic was the runner-up in last week's Open de Rouen. The Serb begins her Madrid Open campaign with a first round match against fellow unseeded player Victoria Azarenka. Here's our match prediction.

The winner of this outdoor clay court match will take on the 21st seed Ekaterina Alexandrova in the second round. Danilovic is a career-high 34th in the latest rankings and will hope to get into the top 32 and be seeded at Roland Garros.

The 24-year-old  has already won one clay court tournament this year. That was the ITF event held in Antalya and Danilovic then followed that with a run to the Rouen final where she lost to Elina Svitolina. Nine of her ten matches on clay this year have been won.

Victoria Azarenka is the world number 48 and this is her first clay court tournament of the year. The 35-year-old has played ten matches this year and won only four of them. Azarenka is playing her first tournament since the Miami Open.

That didn't go well for her with the first set against Karolina Muchova being lost 6-0 and Azarenka then retired. The Russian has reached the final of this WTA 1000 event on two occasions but not since 2012.
