Veronika Kudermetova vs Daria Kasatkina Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA French Open

Veronika Kudermetova is seeded 29th and had never made it past the third round of a Grand Slam tournament before Roland Garros 2022. Tuesday sees her taking on 20th seed Daria Kasatkina for a place in the semi-finals. Kudermetova is in the last eight of a Grand Slam for the first time in her career. Her run to the quarter finals is similar to that of last year's winner Barbora Krejcikova. Kudermetova has had more success in the doubles and is ranked fourth in the world, compared to 29th in the singles. This year saw her get to the singles final in Istanbul but lose in the first round in both Madrid and Rome. This tournament has seen her defeat Zhu Lin (in three sets), Alekandra Krunic and then third seeded Paula Badosa who retired in the second set after losing the first to her lower seeded opponent. The last 16 saw Kudermetova beat the 22nd seeded Madison Keys. The first set of that match was lost 6-1 but Kudermetova won the next two for the loss of just four games.

Daria Kasatkina is seeded 20th for this tournament. This is her second quarter final at Roland Garros after also getting to this stage four years ago. Her performance in Paris follows a good run to the semi-finals in Rome where she had wins over Paula Badosa Leylah Fernandez and Jil Teichmann. So far at Roland Garros, wins have come over Rebecca Sramkova, Fernanda Contreras Gomez, Shelby Rogers and in the last 16, 28th seeded Camila Giorgi. She's been in dominant form throughout with only 14 games lost in those four matches. No one has won more than three games in a set against her and twice Kasatkina has won a set to love. There's been one previous match against Kudermetova and that was a three-set win for Kasatkina in St Petersburg. Kasatkina is in the better form and can win this to reach the last four.
